Green Eyes submits phase 2 MIPS proposal for ProbeGuard
After a six month phase 1 progress review meeting, Maryland Industrial Partnerships (MIPS) requested Green Eyes and Dr. Louis A. Codispoti of Horn Point Lab in Cambridge, MD submit a phase two application for their "ProbeGuard: Biofouling control device for aquatic monitors" development project. Vince Kelly, Green Eyes Director, demonstrated the Green Eyes "Water to Web" system to staff of NYCDEP on March 14th. The system provides real time two way communications between Internet enabled computers and field deployed instruments along with real time data collection, processing and Internet display. As a result of the successful demonstration, Green Eyes was asked to provide quotations for the Water to Web system for their existing water quality monitors and for a complete nutrient and water quality monitoring system with "Water to Web" for all parameters. Green Eyes has been notified that its SBIR proposal titled "Development of a Coastal Long-term Automated Self-calibrating Profiler (CLASP)" to NOAA has been selected for funding. Green Eyes proposed budget is $93,294.95 that includes a $25,042.00 subcontract to Dr. Louis A. Green Eyes was one of six MD companies invited by the University or Maryland-China Research Park (http://www.umcrp.umd.edu) to make presentations to a delegation of Chinese economic development agents. The Park facilitates partnerships between MD and Chinese businesses. University of Maryland President, Dr. C. D. He was studying to become an environmental scientist and expected to get a job as a researcher at a state or federal government agency. His research as a graduate student at Old Dominion University in Norfolk and later and more importantly his work as a research assistant at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science, Horn Point Laboratory in Cambridge, led him down a different path. posted on 10 May 2007 |
